1. Shopping Advice From The Companions

Sayyiduna Umar saw a chunk of meat in Sayyiduna Jaabir’s hands and asked: “What is this, Jaabir?”

Jaabir said: “I desired some meat so I bought it.”

Umar replied: “So, everything that you desire, you buy, Jaabir?”

    قال: اشتهيت لحما فاشتريته
فقال عمر : أو كلما اشتهيت اشتريت ياجابر !

  3. Please no fatwas.

Jabir (radi Allahu anhu) said: “We set out on a journey and along the way a man from amongst us injured himself on a rock and split his head, after which he had a wet dream and required a bath. So he asked his companions, ‘Do you find any concession for me in that I make tayammum?’ They replied, 'We do not find any concession for you as you are able to use water.’ So he bathed and died as a result. This was mentioned to the Messenger (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam). He (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) then replied, 'They killed him, may Allah kill them. Should they not have asked if they didn’t know! Verily the cure of all ignorance is to question! It would have been enough for him had he performed tayammum.’” [Sunan Abu Dawud]

  8. This is what your revolution got you.

It is reported that Al-Hasan Al-Basrî – Allâh have mercy on him – said: If people called on Allâh when put to trial because of their rulers, Allâh would relieve their suffering; but instead they resorted to the sword, so they were left to it. And not one day of good did they bring.

    Then he recited:
And the good word of your Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel, for the patience and perseverance they had, and We destroyed the works of Pharaoh and his people and what they had erected. (Qur'an 7:137)

  9. The Hadith about The Media

Some prophetic advice for everybody who’s had enough of the drama around the world.

Hudhayfa said: I hear the Messenger ﷺ saying: ﷺ

“Trials and Tribulations will be presented to the hearts just like a mat woven line by line. (most post-2000 TVs, computer screens, and LCDs use Progressive Scan Technology to display images, in which each video frame is drawn line by line). Any heart which absorbs these trials/images will have a black mark put in it. However, any heart that rejects them will have a white mark put in it. The result is that hearts will be of one of two kinds: one white like a white gemstone, which will not be harmed by trials as long as the heavens and earth endure; and the other dark and rusty, like an over-turned vessel, not able to recognize the good, nor reject evil, but rather being absorbed with its desires.” (Muslim)

  10. A person once came to the Prophet ﷺ and said that he loves him ﷺ very much. The Prophet ﷺ said to him “lay down a cloth or spread a cloth for Poverty.” Another person said that he loves Allah, The Prophet ﷺ said “spread a cloth for misfortune, for the love of Allah and the Prophet ﷺ is intertwined with poverty and misfortunes.

  13. Abu Hurayra, may Allah be pleased with him reported: A man asked, “O Messenger of Allah! There is a woman who prays, gives charity and fasts a great deal, but she harms her neighbors with her speech (by insulting them)”

He said: “She will go to hell”

The man said: "O messenger of Allah! There is (another) woman who is well-known for how little she fasts and prays, but she gives charity from the dried yoghurt she makes and she does not harm her neighbors"

He said: “She will go to paradise”
